Public Meeting Set Regarding Potential Water Rate Increase

First Water Rate Increase Since 2009 to be Discussed August 14, 2018

Mill City, OR, July 25, 2018:

The Mill City City Council has scheduled a public meeting on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 6:30p.m. to discuss a potential water rate increase; the first in the city since 2009.  The meeting will be held at City Hall; 444 S 1st Avenue, Mill City.  Members of the public are invited to attend to hear the information presented by Stevan Palmer, Rural Community Assistance Corporation, and to provide comments regarding the proposal.

The absence of regular rate increases has meant that water revenues have held steady over the past nine years while expenditures have continued to rise. However, the Water Fund is an enterprise fund and must be self-supporting.   Per Mill City Municipal Code Section 13.04.390 Change of rate structure and fees, water rates and fees must be considered at two City Council meetings.  Therefore, after the initial discussion on August 14, the water rates will be brought back at the August 28, 2018 City Council meeting for additional consideration and possible adoption.

If you are unable to attend the upcoming meetings, written comments, questions or concerns may be submitted to:
